Oregon House to Vote on Controversial Tax Plan

The Oregon House is set to vote on a controversial tax plan after HB 2456 passed through the House Revenue Committee this morning on a 5-4 partisan vote. Democrats who sponsored the bill believe it will raise $275 million in taxes by targeting businesses and taxpayers with higher incomes in order to give schools more money.

Bills like HB 2456 that raise taxes require a 60 percent majority vote to pass. That would mean 36 representatives must vote yes. All 34 Democrats and at least two Republicans must support this bill for it to pass…¬† Click Here: For Complete Newsletter
