Oregon House to Vote on Controversial Tax Plan
The Oregon House is set to vote on a controversial tax plan after HB 2456 passed through the House Revenue Committee this morning on a 5-4 partisan vote. Democrats who sponsored the bill believe it will raise $275 million in taxes by targeting businesses and taxpayers with higher incomes in order to give schools more money.
Bills like HB 2456 that raise taxes require a 60 percent majority vote to pass. That would mean 36 representatives must vote yes. All 34 Democrats and at least two Republicans must support this bill for it to pass… Click Here: For Complete Newsletter
